| Macrophages are the predominant cellular population within atherosclerotic plaque, which playing an important role in plaque formation, progression and regression. Integrated diagnostic and therapeutic nanomaterials brought up a new direction for diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis (AS) with their unique characteristics of precise targeting and efficient treatment. The research progresses of visualized nanomaterials targeting macrophages within AS plaque were reviewed in this article. |
