| The hybrid surgery, which combines the catheter-based therapy, imaging and traditional surgical techniques, has emerged as a promising approach for the minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Echocardiography could guide and evaluate the operation in real-time fashion; therefore it would play a critical role in the development of hybrid surgery. We review the recent progresses of the application of intraoperative echocardiography in hybrid cardiac surgery including the different echocardiographic approach and indications. Future of this novel technique was also discussed. |
