| Objective To assess the diagnostic value of 64 slice CT in colon cancer by comparing with electronic colonoscopy(ECS) and barium enema. Methods Fifty-six patients with colon cancer were scanned using 64 slice CT, with colon cleared and air filled. The images were reconstructed by VR, CTVE, SSD and MPR in workstation. Thirty-six of patients underwent ECS, 56 of them underwent double contrast barium enema (DCEB). The images of VR and SSD were compared with barium enema and the diagnostic score was made. CTVE, the fused image of CTVE and MPR were compared with ECS and diagnostic accuracy was evaluated.Results MSCT correctly detected all tumors. The accuracy of MSCT, DCBE, ECM was 100% (56/56), 73.21% (41/56) and 83.33% (30/36), respectively. Conclusion Sixty-four slice CT has diagnostic superiority in colon tumor and is the first modality for the diagnosis of colon cancer. |
