Many studies showed that not only ultrasound exposure but also ultrasound-mediated microbbuble destruction can enhance gene transfer and expression in vivo and in vitro, especially the latter is more effective. Cavication is the main mechanism. Therefore, ultrasound contrast agent as an new and non-invasive vector for gene delivery holds considerable promise. |
