Ultrasound can increase cell permeability by cavitation, so that it can improve the efficiency of gene transfection and transgene expression in cells in vitro and in vivo. Ultrasound-assisted gene delivery is associated with the parameters of ultrasound exposure, such as mechanical index, pulse repetition frequency, time of exposure, and so on. Ultrasound has great promise as a novel approach to improve the efficiency of nonviral gene delivery. |
