| Objective To estimate the accuracy of three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound for measuring gallbladder volume. Methods Gallbladders of porcine in vitro and of eighty human beings in vivo were scaned with 3D and two-dimensional(2D) ultrasound, volume measurement was performed. Results The accuracy of 3D ultrasound for measuring volume of irregularly configured gallbladders were 104.7% in vitro and 97.9% in vivo respectively. Conclusion Accuracy of 3D ultrasound is superior to that of 2D ultrasoud for evaluation of irregularly shaped gallbladders. |
